The UCI says yes to cross disc brakes!
I wonder where this is going to go? Will manufactures start putting disc tabs on their cross bikes? Will 135mm rear spacing become the cross bike standard? I would think it would be easier for frame builders to change their spacing and add a tab than for hub makers to make the change. Currently the only option is cable actuated discs which is only a marginal improvement compared to cantis. The euros will complain about the extra weight. Is there a dual control, brop bar, hydraulic brake lever in the future? With their mountain bike component lines and hydro guys on staff the S’s are for once maybe a step ahead Campy. If things do go that way. Or could we see more cross racers choosing flat bars and hydraulics? Its all very exciting.
